Privacy Policy
This policy explains the data practices of the Case Orbit Chrome extension.
Case data is stored in your Chrome profile and sent only to the official USCIS website when a check runs. The publisher receives none of it. There is no analytics, advertising, or sale of data.
Data stored locally
Case Orbit stores receipt numbers, optional labels, cached case-status text, form metadata, timestamps, settings, disclosure consent, unread-change state, and up to 25 history entries per case in chrome.storage.local. This data stays in the current Chrome profile.
Data transmitted
When you add or manually refresh a case, or enable a scheduled check, Case Orbit sends the receipt number directly to https://egov.uscis.gov/ for the sole purpose of retrieving its public case status. USCIS receives the request under its own privacy and security practices.
Data the publisher receives
The publisher does not receive case data. Case Orbit has no publisher-operated server, account system, analytics, advertising, tracking pixel, or telemetry. It does not sell, rent, or share user data with data brokers or unrelated third parties.
Limited Use
Case Orbit's use of information received through Chrome extension permissions and from USCIS complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the user-facing case-status tracking feature. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, or unrelated purposes; it is not sold; and the publisher cannot read it because the publisher does not receive it.
Retention and deletion
Saved data remains until you remove it. Expand a case and choose Delete case to remove that case. Uninstall Case Orbit to delete all extension data from the Chrome profile.
Security
Communication with USCIS uses HTTPS. Chrome extension local storage is not encrypted, so anyone with access to the same Chrome profile or device may be able to view saved case information.
Children
Case Orbit is a utility for people tracking immigration case receipts and is not directed to children under 13. The publisher does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
Material data-practice changes will update the effective date and require a new in-extension disclosure. For privacy or support questions, email tape.us.app@gmail.com. Do not include a complete USCIS receipt number in your message.
